Sept 22 -- posting a day in the life photos

Hello. It seems that posting photos on your blog is even easier than I first thought! That's wonderful becuase this will give us more time to talk about the important stuff: writing about our digital images. I have given an example of the type of picture I am looking for. Notice the picture here is not really of anyone person, or some object necessarily, but more of a view of life, a view of a room in this case. The photos I will ask you to take do not need to be posed, (where you arrange a specific shot) they should be more natural -- just part of your actual life, what you see, what you noticed, what struck you as interesting or telling, or noteworthy about this thing.

Before we discuss what sorts of things we can/will say about our images, lets get organized. First thing I want you to do is change the language setting on your computer to English. I hope you remember how. Help each other (using English to explain, please). Don't forget to hit 'refresh,' and please let me know if it doesn't work.
Then, check to make sure that you have signed into blogger - as I will ask you to post a comment before the end of class.
Next, we will find out who was able to bring images to class and who wasn't. Remember if you didn't bring an image it is ok, this week, but by next week, this is a required assignment and if you are unable to complete it, your grade will suffer. I will ask you to share how you brought your media to class, then we will pair people who didn't bring an image with someone who did, so you can at least watch how the uploading is acomplished.
After that, I will turn you lose on the blogger help page, where you (and your partner) will read the instructions on how to upload photos to the blog. From this help page, please find information on how to post pictures on your blog. If you need help finding information on this, please ask.
Once you find the information on how to post a photo, read it, and then post the photo. THis process might be slow (the posting process) becuase the campus internet connection is a bit slow today, so be patient. Follow instructions, and you should be able to post a photo.
After you have posted your photo, you will want to go back to your dashboard, and edit your post so you can add some text and explain the photo. We will talk more about what to do for this part, but for right now, work on writing a brief, clear description and meaning of your photo and explain why you chose to share this image. Good work!

I think this will take between 45minutes to an hour. After this, we will discuss the process, and I will have you do a short comment on our blog about it, then we will do our participation scores and leave. Sounds easy enough. We shall see!
